Edward Levinson is an American fine art and editorial photographer specializing in pinhole photography and living in Japan since 1979. He extended his visual quest into filmmaking (digital capture) in 2012. His short film Tokyo Story has received numerous Awards and Official Selections. Tokyo Story and various other shorts have also been shown in galleries, and at numerous events.

Edward's award winning photo book Timescapes Japan (Nippon Camera-sha, 2006) is a pinhole photography classic. He is also an essayist and poet. His book Whisper of the Land (Fine Line Press, 2014) is a collection of essays based on his life in Japan and he has published two books of essays in Japanese with Iwanami Shoten. His photographs have been regularly exhibited in Japan, the USA, and Europe (45 solo and 30 group shows as of March 2018) and are in various museum and private collections.
