Bio
Mathieu Serra
To direct is to capture the essence of a world in motion. With a master's degree in cinema, doubly anchored in directing and editing, Mathieu Serra explores the human canvas with an assumed sensitivity, as a force to illuminate injustices and the quest for self.
After ten years spent shaping stories for television and series, he continued his path as an author with a feature-length documentary and seven short films, before signing in 2023 his first feature-length fiction film, Oh Fan!, shot in the urgency of summer and the intensity of emotions. Each dialogue, each feeling, each silence becomes for Mathieu an attempt at dialogue with the world, to question what binds us and escapes us.
As a juror, he takes a sharp look at the impact of a film, where technique sublimates narration, and where each sensation provoked becomes an intimate echo. For him, cinema is a space free of emotion and reflection, a place to better understand our struggles and redraw our dreams.
It is with this passionate gaze and sincere commitment that Mathieu sets out on a perpetual quest for new stories to discover.
