Esther Megard
" On the edge"

Bio
Esther Megard is an illustrator and visual artist. After studying at the Decorative Arts School in Strasbourg and the Weissensee Kunsthochschule in Berlin, earning a DNSEP (National Diploma of Public Health) in 2012, she pursued training in cultural mediation at the CNAM (National Centre for Cultural Heritage) in Paris.
Today, she lives and works in Marseille, developing her drawing and animated imagery by combining different tools and media (embroidery, engravings, inks, etc.) for commissions (theater sets, frescoes, publications) and exhibition projects.
Her graphic work plays on strong contrasts, between lines of force and fragility, and seeks to poetically address the difficult spaces of life.
A sport that reveals the paradoxes and tensions that inhabit us, she is interested in boxing and its artistic representations. She then began working on this theme with thread and ink. This research culminated in the short film "Sur le Fil," commissioned by the CNAP (National Center for National Education), in collaboration with the "Don't Panik Team" boxing club.
She collaborates with other artists to offer workshops to groups combining body art and drawing for therapeutic purposes.
