Bio
Born and raised in Ain Ebel, a picturesque village in southern Lebanon, Pedro holds a bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Arts from Beirut. He began his career as an art director in film and advertising before transitioning into photography and filmmaking.
Pedro’s work often explores personal themes, drawing from lived experiences. His debut short film, Autostrade Beirut (Beirut Highway), premiered at the Raindance Film Festival in 2021, earning him an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for a master's in Film Directing from KinoEyes, The European Film Masters.
His graduation film, A Mother Goes To The Beach, received multiple awards, including Best Short Film at Sophia Estudante 2024 (Portuguese Academy of Cinema) and Best National Essay at the 30th Caminhos do Cinema Português Film Festival. The film also screened at festivals such as IndieLisboa, São Paulo International Short Film Festival, Concorto Film Festival (Italy), and Aesthetica Film Festival (UK).
Pedro is currently pursuing a PhD in Media Arts and Communication at Lusófona, FilmEU European University (CICANT). His arts-based research, funded by an FCT research grant, focuses on gender representation in the Middle East.

Synopsis
Teresa, a single mother spends a day at the beach with her six-year-old son, Benji and her sister Marga, who is back to Portugal for a summer vacation. The day becomes very stressful with her sister's constant speech about her son's achievements and her criticisms towards Benji.
